CT Stress!!!!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by karliang @ 1:57 pm

CT stress!!!!! *screams for help*

I hate exams. Exams suck. Teach then teach lah, learn then learn lor. Want to learn, dun want to learn, I see no need for such exertion of stress and excess of brain cells dying.

Yes, that is what exams are.

Brain cells being exterminated.

Ok. Let’s see if mugging is effective. So far I have learnt that…

Macromolecular structures cannot conduct electricity in any state, have carnassial teeth used for chewing through bone, and is of the people, by the people and for the people. I also learnt that Dr Faustus is a tragic hero by his own choice, and he, though migrated, still has his heart in his zu guo (home country). The formula ‘a(x-h) + k’ gives you the focal length of converging lenses.

Am I talking nonsense here?

Oh dear. My mugging has not allowed inquiring facts to penetrate through my thick vertebrae skull, though I find that I can now talk much more crap than before. Like, much more knowledgeable, fact-filled crap.

Back to mugging. ):

Only 8 days to go. 8 Days… Oh, I wish I could read that mag now…

A pregnant woman and a rainy Saturday

Filed under: Uncategorized — by karliang @ 12:11 pm

Today was basically very very boring. I had to stay at home, due to the sickening amount of mugging I had to do for the upcoming CTs. Not that I was the only one. Loads of ppl were on MSN today afternoon including my Saturday hangout pals. Ambrose was also mugging for his exams. Darren had some project to complete, and he also just came back from swimming training in the morning. There were swimming competitions coming up, I think. Yiling was the only one at Heartland Mall I think.

Then, at around 5.01 pm I receive a call from her.

The voice was hysterical.

Yiling: “OH MY GOD! Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god!”
Me: “WHAT what WHAT what WHAT what WHAT?!”
Yiling: “Guess who I saw?”
Me: “Um… Tom Cruise!”
Yiling: “NO!”
Me: “John Mayer!”
Yiling: “NO!”
Me: “Reese Witherspoon!”
Yiling: “NO, damnit!”
Me: “OPRAH WINFREY!”
Yiling: “WHAT THE HELL would Oprah be doing in Singapore?!”
Me: “Um… Lettin Tom jump on her new Ikea couch!”
Yiling: ” Oh, for goodness sakes… I saw Guo Lao Shi!”
Me: “Guo Lao Shi?”

In case you dunno, Guo Lao Shi was our tuition teacher, i.e she’s now EX-tuition teacher of me, Ambrose, Yiling and Darren. She was the one who made my HCL get A* back in the good times when I could still score 90+ marks for anything at all.

Me: “What? What happened to her?”
Yiling: “She’s pregnant! Ta you le (She got child already)!
Me: “Whoa! How did she get knocked up!”
Yiling: “Knocked up? You idiot.”
Me: “Whatever lah. How did you know one?”
Yiling: “Passed by her lah. She had this pregnant woman glow, you know? Damn recognizable.”
Me: “WHAT?! You knew she was pregnant because she had a GLOW?”
Yiling: “Hey, I’m female too ok. I know these things. And also because she had a big round tummy, wearing maternity clothes and carrying a bag of some baby stuff she bought. Duh.”
Me: “Uber cool, man.”
Yiling: “So? Come down and see lah! Go visit her, congratulate, you know?”
Me: “Xiao jie (miss) I have exams to mug for ok. Unlike some people har, so xian kong (free).”
Yiling: “My exams over already what, not my fault.”
Me: “Got call Zhenghao and Darren?”
Yiling: “I did liao. Darren super on edge, he snapped at me for being bossy and gossipy. And then Zhenghao also got exams.”
Me: “What you expect? Fun and games ah?”
Yiling: “BORING! Ok ok, next week then.”

And with that she hung up. Yiling also SMSed me saying Guo Lao Shi was 5 months pregnant. And I wanted to ask her again, how she knew that, but I decided not to for fear of starting a new conversation with Miss Talk-For-Hours.

Anyway, I realized something.

It’s been raining a lot lately. Raining so much I felt like just sleeping and forgetting about stupid CTs. But cannot lah… tsk… ):

IN any case, I should be thankful I’m not at OBS now. Imagine what those people are going through, facing the freaking mid-year monsoon season right now. I faced the rain once, and I can so relate to the people @ Pulau Ubin now. Ahhhh… fearsome memories…

P.S Some people in the Sec 3 Cohort need a serious reality check. They seriously seriously need to know what they can do, and what they cannot, or are unable to, do. They are really pissing me off and getting on my nerves. Someone ask these wannabes to go for a reality check please.

Alaric and BC should know who I’m talking about.

An update on my life

Filed under: Uncategorized — by karliang @ 12:45 pm

OK, time for another update on my life.

Today I actually, for once in my life, arrived home before 3 pm and so had time to sleep, chill out and totally study for once… (like, GASP!)

Okay, so on the bus 410 back to my grandma’s house, I was with Jin Sei (yuck, I know) and Chue Hsien, whom I have not held a proper conversation with for a long time! And then Jin Sei was being an irrtating bastard, like he always is, kept interrupting me and Chue talking. OBVIOUSLY he was jealous or something, that he couldn’t talk to someone without totally turning the person off. So Chue and I just ignored him, with Chue occasionally speaking two sentences with him.

Then Chue and I got off at Thomson Plaza, leaving the irritating Korean to his own devices in the bus.

Then… I SAW AN OLD FRIEND!!!

His name is Jaryll, and I had not seen him for a LONG LONG LONG time! He looked totally hot, ok. I know, a bit weird to describe him, but that was the first word that came to my mind. He was wearing this necklacey thing, and had brownish hair, and very cool green Ipod Mini, and was looking totally nonchalant and cool, and when he saw me he waved back and smiled this totally cool grin, man!

So cool, right?

I smiled back, not knowing how to react to this old friend who apparently had become SUCH a poser. But whatever. So I abandoned Chue to talk to him.

Blah… blah… normal stuff lah. Then Jaryll just kept GRINNING! Man, I know his smile is totally DA bomb, but he just kept smiling! I was reminded of those old times when we were little kids goofing around… he smashed my hand with a rubbish bin top once, and smiled at me. GEEZ, that smile!

Anyway. so good to see an old friend again.

So I headed home, had a nice long bath after the barrage of tests and assignments that had been keeping me on edge lately. Then I sat down to mug, fell asleep after a while, got woken up by a call from Alaric, talked to him for a while, then called Seng Henk and talked to him for a while too. Then I messaged Mr Colin Cheong about RE while I continued mugging, and then had dinner while watching Oprah re-runs.

Then the gnats came.

I don’t know, but is today gnat mating season or something? This entire army of gnats came and attacked the entire area around my grandma’s house! They were swarming around the lights and the lamps, and even the street lamps outside were NOT spared! It was so freaky ok. I was running around, trying to dodge the stupid little insects who kept buzzing around.

Then after one hour of unsuccessfully trying to chase the little blighters away, I just gave up, took a cab back to my house and left my grandma to deal with the insects herself.

Where I watched American Idol, and was shocked BEYOND WORDS!!!!

Okay, firstly, the first minute already had me gaping. Paula and Ryan OBVIOUSLY had some tension between them. Paula’s smile was very very strained and Ryan was about to puke or something… the whole Seacrest-Abdul scandal was very obvious.

Then Andrea Bocelli came in, and my mom, being the Classical fan that she is, gasped at the Italian blind singer.

Mom: “(gasps) Who is this amazing man?”
Me: “Andrea Bocelli.”
Mom: “Wow! He sounds Russian.”
Me: “Italian.”
Mom: “WOW! I need to get his CD! Never knew Italians sing so good!”
Me: “You’ve been stuck on Richard Clayderman for 2 years, what do you know?”
Mom: “Good point.”

So anyway, I totally expected the bottom 2. I was thinking Paris, Kellie and Elliot in bottom 3, and either Kellie or Elliot leaving tonight, and I was spot-on. Kellie was given the leaving journey Daniel Powter-Bad Day video thing, and then my mom was like, “Pickler? She was good!”

I shook my head. “Not this week.”

So my mom was waiting for an encore, you know, the final swan song each ousted Idol wannabe sang after they were eliminated? The last song kinda thing? And so my mom waited…

Waited…

Waited…

Then… the Fremantle logo came up. Then…

The show ended.

My mom was left staring at a blue Channel 5 logo. And she was like, “HUH? Where’s Kellie?”

I was also gaping. Cause, if my memory serves me well, no Idol had EVER EVER EVER been deprived of a final performance!

*gasps*

What a horror. Then when my mom heard Kellie sang “Unchained Melody” which is again one of my mom’s faves, she totally hyperventilated. She didn’t get to catch last night’s performance, just like me, so we both wept at a good opportunity to laugh at her and insult her country version of that famous classic.

Anyway. Elections are coming. Singapore rocks. And can I say our Health Minister Koh Boon Wan is so totally cool and competent? He rox, man.

P.S If they ever deprive my Katherine, Chris or Paris of a leaving performance, I will call up Fox and demand an explanation. Everyone agrees with me right? Good.

P.P.S The top 2 was exactly as I expected. Total domination by Chris and Kat.

Love Songs ain’t cutting it

Filed under: Uncategorized — by karliang @ 1:31 pm

OK, American Idol was disappointing.

Firstly, I realized I now watch AI because of Simon’s comments, and actually less of the singing.
Still, the singing plays a part.

So, to sum it all up, I was impressed, once again, by Katherine, Chris and Paris.

Not that I actually got to hear Katherine. I came home late and hence only managed to catch Paris, Taylor and Chris. Of course, in her flashback thing, at the end of the show, she sounded good. So, whatever.

I personally think Kellie had a lot of potential in that song. I had no idea what Simon said about her, whether good or bad, but it sounded SLIGHTLY too screechy to me. Was it Celine Dion?

Anyway, Chris was good, like usual, but I would like to implore him to return to rock. I know, not in love songs, but the performance, though good, gave me somewhat of the goosebumps.

*Shivers*

Taylor, this time, shocker of all shockers, DID NOT dance.

WHOA-ZAH!

Well, I guess it’s a trade-off kinda thing. He didn’t dance, stayed in one spot (FINALLY taking all the advice of the viewers), but then the song was totally wrong. The singing was kinda good, The ‘Find’ part at the later part of the song was totally mind-blowing, but the song overall was a wrong choice.

I would have to say, the one who goes might be Elliott or Kellie. Though I think Kellie was slightly better this ep, so I’m putting my money on Elliott going home tmr. Although in AI, nothing can be said. It’s just too unpredictable.

Oh, and btw,

What’s Hot…
I know, it’s so random, but I decided to say something about… The Singapore Idol TV ads! WHAT an LOL!!!! Can anything get funnier than each of the four judges being tortured by horrific singer-wannabes?

Firstly, we had Dick, being tortured by this guy who had kinda some questions about his sexuality, who kept singing to him in the Men’s room, then we had Flo being cornered in the lift by more singer-wannabes, and then Jacintha being attacked at the salad bar by a busty woman who kept going, “Don’t CHA!!!!!”

And then KEN!!!! OMG, SO FUNNY! He was about to have his kaya-toast and coffee when…

Suddenly, this super-fat guy appears, singing MC Hammer’s You Can’t Touch This, pointing to each of his fat chest flabs (i.e fat breasts) and going, “You can’t touch…thissssss.”

HAHAHAHAAH!!! super funny, i tell you. You gotta see it to laugh at it.

And then we had all four judges being cornered at the same time. It was super-funny ok. Sigh…

Whoever said the quality of ads does not depend on the money is wrong. The more money, the better the advertisements.

Teen Talk: Small Private Part vs. A Big Heart

Filed under: Uncategorized — by karliang @ 11:56 am

Welcome to the first Teen Talk, a new series of posts I’ll do if I have the time (: and if I have something to post about. It’s all about YOU, the teen, and what I find really interesting about teenagehood.

Okay, for those who read my blog constantly, you’ll know that I constantly find it funny that two people, two teens completely the same, are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

On Saturday I didn’t really get to go out… firstly because I had to mug for CTs and because I was so drained after the whole Raffles Rock thing, so I stayed at home and rested. Secondly, Darren had swimming training, Zhenghao had GOH parade at some police academy (I forgot liao) and Yiling had dance practice. So me being the ONLY slacker who has so much free time, I lazed around at home, and read the papers.

An old article about the teen guy who committed suicide because apparently he had some small penis or something, and his friends constantly teased him about it. I wasn’t so sure how people even knew he committed suicide because of his small weenie, unless he had written a suicide note or something before he did it, but anyways.

Then just yesterday, I read the article about Joan Chan. You know, the ex-RGS, ex-RJC, going-to-NUS gal who had Stage IV tongue cancer? That softball-captain gal who’s strong like rock and fights like a true warrior? I read it already and I was super touched ok. Sandra Leong is really a great journalist. So I decided to blog about it, but forgot to do so…

Anyway, I was really amazed at how two similar people could be at two different ends of the spectrum called life. Let’s not talk about school. Let’s not talk about wealth. Let’s talk about their mentalities.

So maybe you’re already saying, “But, Kar Liang, you don’t know half the story! Maybe the guy was tormented really badly!”

Then I would have laughed at you, and said, “Oh? As badly tormented as Joan? She had CANCER, for crying out loud! That’s living torture!”

Another one would have said, “You haven’t been made fun of. You dunno what it feels like.”

Believe me, I HAVE been made fun of. NOT about my penis or anything, so don’t be mistaken. Ive been made fun of my hair, pimples, my teeth even, LOTS of things. And nothing, NOTHING, could be possibly worse than knowing you have cancer and is about to die.

And that’s the funny part. Because this gal Joan HAD a life ahead of her. She was about to enroll in NUS architecture faculty, and this cancer hit her at a point in her life where she was about to peak. This had to be devastasting. Knowing you have such a future, you were given a chance and an opportunity, but having to let it pass you because of something COMPLETELY out of your control, and being faced with death and doom – nothing could be worse than that.

And the ironic thing is, this teenage guy HAD the life all laid out in front of him. He could have moved on to greater things… to achieve a much better future, but he chose to let it all wasted.

Here is the difference. One chose it. One did not.

And the question is… WHY?

Why would any sensible person voluntarily remove his own life? What could be so bad that could make him not even want to live?

He had been made fun of by his friends. That’s the answer. He was made fun of so much that he decided that life was no more worth living. And his penis was made fun of too, no less.

Okay, to all those people reading this, and some may be the guy’s relatives or friends, understand that I have no grudge or anything. All I want to say is that it’s quite silly to commit suicide based on what your friends tease u about. Maybe you were teased badly. You were teased to no end. But understand that life is more than the sum of its parts (super cheem lorh) and nothing could make life not worth living.

If those are the grounds for committing suicide, then half of the world would have killed themselves by now. Racism jokes. Fat jokes. Homosexual jokes. Dumb blonde jokes. Nearly the whole world would have killed themselves and left their guts splattered below each high-rise by now. If everybody were to take each comment made by people around them seriously, the world would seriously be a more depressing place.

Firstly, to the dead teenager guy…
I’m not prejudiced against you or somehow having some grudge against you. I just find that you need to STAND UP! STAND UP AGAINST THOSE STUPID PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMMENT ON YOU! So what if your dick is small? So what if your friends and classmates tell you you have a weenie? Are they the ones who you are going to have sex with in the future? Are they the ones who you are going to marry and live a happy ever after life with? And btw, they cannot be called your ‘friends’. Cause, sure, friends give constructive criticism. But I don’t think telling a friend his dick is smaller than yours warrants as constructive criticism. If I were you, I would come back from the dead to haunt that guy (s).

Secondly, EVERY dick has some sensation. It’s been proven. Every dick, small or superbig, can cause good sensations in a woman. So relax. It IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!

Thirdly, BRUSH it off! Be someone who can accept good as well as bad comments from others! Lets face it. The world is a cruel, harsh place. Everyone is a critic. Given a choice between criticism or praise, people would choose criticism like *snaps fingers* and it’s hardly a choice for them. They figure, hurt someone cause someone’s bound to hurt you back. And hence, you have to learn how NOT to be hurt. When someone criticises you, ignore it or make them justify that point!

For all you know, someone could have a smaller dick. If that doesn’t help, think that some guys don’t even have dicks. And that’s not funny… It’s tragic.

Every day I go to school, and without a beat I am bound to hear Marvin crack some stupid, not funny comment about me. And it really isn’t a joke. Sometimes, what Marvin Loh says can really really hurt. It can really sting, it can bite, it can cause a lot of pain. But that is what criticism is. Criticism can be good or bad… Good you can learn from, bad you can’t. Either way, both will have to hurt. Marvin’s comments are ‘bad’, I would classify them as words that would hurt me and take me down and leave me down for a week. And that is why I don’t let those words touch me. If Marvin ever makes a constructive comment toward me (not possible, FYI) I’ll be sure to accept it. But until then, I protect myself against everything he says.

It’s as simple as that. Harsh and tough, but simple.

As for Joan, I’m truthfully sorry to hear about your plight. Yes, you are facing the end of the world. The end of YOUR world. But remember, you left a legacy behind.

A legacy of goodness, truth, virtue and light. And not a legacy of scorn, humiliation, sin and regret. You left this world knowing you have done something good for someone, and many more in your generation. You left this world knowing you have no regrets. You left this world knowing you did everything to your greatest effort, and did NOT stay down AFTER YOU WERE KNOCKED OVER. You got right back up, and fought the illness with the greatest force you could summon.

And for that, I really admire you.

It takes a lot of courage to face the demons of this world. Some demons are inner, like insecurity and lack of courage, and some people jus cannot fight them. Some demons cannot be fought. Some demons are caused by people around us. Some demons LIVE within us, literally. And yet some demons only exist if you let them exist.

Are you going to let them exist?

Raffles Rock – DreaMix

Filed under: Uncategorized — by karliang @ 3:13 pm

Today was damn damn damn damn cool. Apart from the fact I finally tied up some loose ends with the never-ending homework pile, I also attended Raffles Rock’s DreaMix, a full-length powerhouse rock show at RJC MPH, with bands like Electrico, EIC, SpanishFly all coming together for a good cause.

Promo
Dreams @ Kolam Ayer is a centre for troubled teens, a centre with featured learning programs for them, such as skills, time management and hobbies and interests, to help them achieve their dreams. Dreams @ Kolam Ayer is a purely-Samaritan cause, and no proceeds whatsoever goes to the management staff, but are instead channelled into organising and planning activities and interest groups and lessons for the teens there.

Raffles Junior College and Dreams @ Kolam Ayer made some deal, and RJC sent over members from its Raffles Rock CCA group to coach a few teens on different musical instruments, vocal training and live performance. That prompted 5 teens from Dreams @ Kolam Ayer to form their own band, Minus Negative. RJC then decided to hold a full-length concert, featuring all-local talents, and showcasing for the first time, hidden talents such as Minus Negative as well as other bands like Zhen and more.

Okay. Enough talking. Time for the highlight of this post… the photos!

Started off the afternoon with a little touch-up on overdue work. Took a cab home to have lunch and change up.

2.55 pm. I had time. Changed up into my finest threads and blazoomed the way down to RJC. And can I say for the record that RI boys are the most boring bunch of people ever? Humurous, yes. Interesting, yes. Smart, yes. But if you want someone to go with you to some concert or performance thing, forget it. You’d have more chances asking a dog to go out with you.

To quote, Shawn had to study for Chinese Literature (like wth?). David had to take care of his siblings. Chen Xuan had swimming. Terence just didn’t feel like going. Chris mysteriously vanished. I was completely shocked. So I asked Bryan Nah. He said ‘See first’ , and turns out he had overslept in his afternoon nap and hence could not come. I SO totally did NOT believe that for one second.

Me and my style of concert wear… casual chic. So I had no choice but to go there alone. And guess who I met?

My friend Seah Wang Ling! She brought along a friend Diana Nai, who I also know from last year Oi! Sleeping Beauty, which I went with Chen Xuan and the two girls.
Diana of course was very shy, so she became the photo-taker instead of photo-takee.
Following that… start of the show!
First up… ELECTRICO!!!!!!!

First act of the night and can I say they totally blew up the entire stage? The organisers were smart to put Electrico first because the energy level was totally high at the start.

Daniel Bassoon and the lead singer David.

Daniel (right) actually was from RJC!!! Wah siao, it was so cool lorh. One minute jamming the guitar, next minute “I’m from RJC…” Super cool i tell you. Everyone was cheering. David is the lead singer, the one on the left.

Now, for the guys, photos of Amanda, and Daniel, Electrico band members.

In case some ppl very dots one… Amanda is OBVIOUSLY the girl with the cap in charge of keyboard and organ, while Daniel is again the guitar-jammer. Amanda jamming on the keyboards. In case some guys also dunno, she was featured on FHM mag as the first female musician to be featured on such an, ahem, magazine. I dunno the names of two of the members, the drummer and this geeky-looking guitarist.

Okay, I was so totally envying the RJ girl who got the chance to go up lorh. David wanted her to dedicate the song ‘Walk’, out of their upcoming album (out in June, go get it!) to her friends.

Oh yeah, and four RJ guys behind me kept asking me to take photos of Amanda and send to him. SO despo… Now… for the big bang of the Electrico performance… “I Want You”, the same song that shot them to fame and also the song people remember them by.

Well, end of that performance. Short interlude. Then some RJ band, which I forgot the name of, but they performed a Creed song and an original piece, which I must say, was excellently good and quite catchy. They just need the credibility.
Then, after that… Spanishfly.

The songs were ok lah… gearing more toward loud and fierce than tuneful and catchy.
And then another interlude. Wang Ling, Diana and I were very very very bored in that short span of time… so I let Diana take some photos of me… (of course I’m photoslut, rmb?)

Okay, enough crapping. Interlude over, and it was another RJ band. This was an all-guitar band, with female lead singers… the first in the concert so far!

Very nice guitar-playing, not enough nice tunes. Got bored after a while, but the guitar was good enough to sway too, prompting me, Wang Ling and Diana to sway like trees in the wind.

Then another local band… RJC also, I think. Was listening to the band for a while, then realized I was super super thirsty because I screamed too much, esp. for Electrico.
I headed out to get a drink and guess what I SAW?

Only a handful of people, close friends, know what these two words mean to me… :-)
And I returned to the seat. It was another mini-interlude, so the three of us fooled around with the cams again. Here is Diana’s back and Wang Ling’s hair.

See lah. Diana take can also take until liddat. Show the one little looks-like-balding-but-isn’t-balding spot that my hair gel could not cover up.
And now for even more candid shots of me. The NUMBERS game.
ONE!

TWO!

SEVEN!

NINE!

Wth… Enough gayness already. Interlude over, and the hall promptly exploded with the sound of music.
Out comes E-I-C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooo!!!
EIC, for the less musically-educated people out there, is a very very cool band which plays in bars and clubs and puts spins on popular modern hits. EIC is also, interestingly, headed by (drumroll) A TEACHER IN RJC! The teacher in RJC is the lead singer of EIC, and he’s called Mr. Sivar (sp.) or smethng. Everyone totally enjoyed EIC. Especially me.
EIC was doing all the hits I liked.
All-Star, by Smashmouth, Fix You, by Coldplay, No Such Thing by John Mayer, You and I Both by Jason Mraz (as an encore performance!), Vertigo by U2 and others… I was so hyped and jumping okay! The teachers of RJC are really cool. That lead singer guy is the Indian guy, btw.

Looks like everyone really enjoyed the concert. And why wouldn’t they? It was really hyper and really cool. And the hand that is straight up in that photo, is MY hand ah, btw.
However, due to my fanatical obsession with The Amazing Race and Survivor, as Yiling puts it, an unhealthy TV show hooker, I had to leave the last part as TAR had already started (10.30 pm, eh, pls lorh!) and hence could not catch Minus Negative, which was supposed to be the highlight of the show, at the last part. Darn.

On an even darker note, Fu Zhi Hao was at the concert too. Fugly, idiotic, stupid, rude, useless and scrawny Fu Zhi Hao, was there too. It was utterly horrendous to see him, because the first thing he said to me was ‘Fuck off lah.’ That pissed me off so much you know. WHAT GIVES HIM THE RIGHT TO TELL ME TO FUCK OFF? WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS? Never mind, I’ll blog about it more tmr, this post is already rather long. Besides, I’m supposed to be cheerful. Even Wang Ling, ex-classmate to me and Zhi Hao (no association here pls) said she was shocked to hear it. She was totally surprised at how fugly Fu Zhi Hao had changed for the worse.

Well, I enjoyed myself today. That’s all that matters. Some fugly and skinny monkey-looking creature can’t ruin today’s fun. Great concert. Kudos to Raffles Rock, Electrico, and EIC. But most importantly, support Dreams @ Kolam Ayer! Most proceeds from ticket sales will go to Dreams @ Kolam Ayer. Ciao! Thanx Wang Ling and Diana for spending time with me! Cya soon!

American Idol review

Filed under: Uncategorized — by karliang @ 1:10 pm

Ok… Finished watching American Idol. And can I say it was like, the BEST performance ever?!

The moment Chris and Paris came out and sang, I was completely hooked. The two of them just completely blew me away with their perfect song choices and song tunes.

Then Taylor came out. His singing was marvelous, but again, the dancing was terrible. The way he stamped his feet was frightening, like some cockroach was trying to get into his shirt. The song he chose HAD to have some movement, and so as I listened, I gradually closed my eyes until I couldn’t see the frightening sight on screen, and only heard the beautiful tunes Taylor was singing.

Elliott and Kellie came out, and they were good too, but unfortunately, in comparison to Chris, Paris and Taylor, their vocals just didn’t match. They were so-so in comparison, good, still, but the weakest links amongst the remaining 7. I think they’ll be going tmr.

Ace came out. Okay. Good, quite nice, somewhere around the Paris level, not as there yet, but definitely powerful.

Katherine came out, and the world collapsed around me. Can I say she totally kicked ass? Simon was right… It was a whole different league altogether. The others were good, she was GREAT! Her eyes, her look, her vocals, her movements lithe, classy and finesse, her last ‘Me’ dragged out well and controlled… EXCELLENT!

Perfecto. Can’t wait for the finals. It’ll be a close fight between Chris and Katherine.
