X-Men III

X-Men III. What can I say? It is about the coolest, most flashy, hottest, most action-packed movie with the coolest special effects ever!

Let’s do a little review of the action.

*Spoilers ahead! Read at your own risk!*

New characters are added/inducted into the main X-Men team

Warren Warrington III aka Angel
Played by: Ben Foster
Mutation: With the wings of an angel, he flies.

Dr. Henry “Hank” McCoy aka Beast
Played by: Kelsey Grammer
Mutation: Enhanced agility, strength, speed and size, is blue in color

Piotr Rasputin aka Colossus
Played by: Daniel Cudmore
Mutation: Turns his body into organic steel, with super strength

Katherine “Kitty” Pryde aka Shadowcat
Played by: Ellen Page
Mutation: Allows her molecules to slip through other molecules

Of course, there are also recurring roles, past characters that return with more flavor.

Ororo Munroe aka Storm
Played by: Halle Berry
Mutation: Environmental control that allows her to summon weather changes

Jean Grey aka Phoenix
Played by: Famke Janssen
Mutation: Super-duper enhanced psychic and psionic powers

Logan aka Wolverine
Played by: Hugh Jackman
Mutation: Enhanced feral senses and healing factor

Raven Darkholme aka Mystique
Played by: Rebecca Romijn Stamos
Mutation: DNA alteration allows her to take on features of anyone she wants

Best moments of the movie:
1 ) When Charles Xavier is disintegrated by Phoenix. Extremely good special effects.
2) When Kitty so cleverly outwits Juggernaut. Her power is defensive, somemore.
3) Magneto splintering the Golden Gate Bridge to provide a path to Alcatraz.
4) The Xavier funeral. A real tear-jerker.
5) Wolverine fights against Phoenix to stab her.
6) Storm’s magnificent kazambam of lightning against Callisto.

And now, why there SHOULD be an X-Men 4:
1) Kitty hasn’t fallen in love with Colossus yet.
2) Storm hasn’t lost her powers yet.
3) There has not been an appearance by Apocalypse yet.
4) Xavier, according to the post-credit clip, placed his sub-conscious mind into that of a comatic patient before he died.
5) Cyclops hasn’t been revived by an alien force.
6) Nightcrawler still hasn’t found out he’s the son of Mystique.
7) Rogue hasn’t gained her Miss Marvel powers yet, and her Miss Marvel powers were gained after she lost her absorb-imprint power, which is what happened this film.
Magneto’s power is still present.
9) The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, children of Magneto, have yet to appear.
10) Xavier’s relationship with Moira McTaggert hasn’t been explored yet, just like Beast’s relationship with Storm.

Who I predict will not return for the 4th installment, if there ever was one:
1) Famke Janssen. Her Phoenix role was the most pivotal and important in the Jean Grey history. However the producers might do something else to her, I don’t know.
2) Rebecca Romijn Stamos. How can you expect her to return when she can’t even turn into other people anymore? That was the best part of every movie!
3) Kelsey Grammer. Even though his relationship with Storm hasn’t been touched, it’s highly unlikely he returns.
4) Alan Cumming. He didn’t appear as Nightcrawler for this movie, my guess is that he won’t be there for X: 4 either.
5) Ben Foster. Angel doesn’t really have much to do.
6) Dania Ramirez. Callisto couldn’t have possibly survived all that lightning.
